Baseball, Softball in Top Ten of Final National Poll
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - With the release of the fifth and final NJCAA national polls for softball and baseball, both LSU Eunice teams remain in the top ten. Further, both teams have been ranked in the top ten each week the polls have been released.
Phoenix College (Ariz.) leads the DII Softball Poll for the fifth and final week of the 2009 season. Lansing Community College and Cowley College (Kan.) hold strong at second and third for the third straight week.
Heartland Community College went 4-0 last week to improve to 38-8 on the season and earn the No. 4 ranking. LSU-Eunice also improves to 33-15 and rise to fifth.

The LSU-Eunice (La.) Bengals remain the top team in the final NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll of the 2009 season. LSU - Eunice is No. 1 in the rankings for the fourth straight week after receiving 147 total poll points and eight of 10 first place votes this week.
LSU-Eunice is followed in the rankings by Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (Ala.) and Des Moines Area Community College (Iowa).
The Bengals improved to 44-7 on the season by going 3-1 over the past week. They split a doubleheader (17-6, 7-9) with Hinds (Miss.) on April 25 and then took two games (61, 5-4) from Mississippi Gulf Coast on April 27.
