Bengals Win Region 23 Tournament

Monday May 18th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice Baseball team (48-10) won the Region 23 tournament today by defeating Holmes Community College by a 19-5 score. Stefan Comeaux (6-0) of Breaux Bridge High School earned the win pitching seven innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out nine and walking one.

Offensively, eight of the nine batters in the Bengals starting line-up recorded at least one hit with seven of the nine starters recording multiple hits. Caleb Clower of West Monroe led the way going 4-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI’s. Jordan Bourque of Teurlings Catholic, Jacob Fisher of Zachary High School, and Seth Granger of Iowa High School collected three hits apiece. Bourque, Fisher, and Gabriel Thibodeaux each hit a homerun.

The Bengals will now play in the NJCAA Division II World Series to be held in Enid, OK. Their first game will be played on Saturday, May 23rd set to begin at 4 pm.
