Three Bengals Sign With Ole Miss, Tulane, and ULM
Sunday November 20th - The LSU Eunice baseball program continued its history of success by having three players sign with NCAA Division I schools in the early signing period. Stuart Turner, Brady Wilson, and Dalton Herrington all signed their national letters of intent to continue their baseball and academic careers Wednesday afternoon on the campus of LSU Eunice.
The three Bengals make a total of 88 players that have moved on to NCAA schools and 39 Major League Baseball Draft picks during the last nine years. “I am extremely excited for these three men and their academic and athletic futures at the next level,” said LSU Eunice Head Coach Jeff Willis. “They have signed with three quality programs and we are very happy for them and their families.”
Sophomore catcher Stuart Turner (Eunice HS, Eunice, LA) signed his letter of intent to play next season with the Ole Miss Rebels. Turner was fourth on the team last season with a .343 average, 12 doubles, 2 homeruns, and 45 RBIs.
Turner also played for the South Hampton Breakers this past summer and was named as one of the league’s top players. Turner makes the second player to join the Ole Miss Baseball program in the last 3 years, joining former Bengal Zach Kirksey.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Brady Wilson (Parkview Baptist HS, Baton Rouge, LA) signed his letter of intent to play next season with the Tulane Green Wave. Wilson was named NJCAA All-Region 23 last season and was first on the team with a 10-1 record, 2.57 ERA in 84 innings with 68 SO and 25 BB’s.
Wilson makes the second player in the last two years to sign with the Tulane baseball program following in the footsteps of former Bengal teammate Andrew Reeves.
Sophomore centerfielder Dalton Herrington (Minden, HS, Minden, LA) signed his letter of intent to play next season with University of Louisiana Monroe. Herrington was named the team MVP during his freshman campaign in which he hit .345 with 23 doubles, 7 homeruns, and 50 RBIs.
Herrington makes eight players who have gone on to continue their success at ULM over the last five years.
“I can’t say enough about the hard work and dedication these young men have put into our program here at LSU Eunice. I expect them to do nothing but represent themselves, family and the LSU Eunice community very well on the field this year and next at their respected schools”, said Willis.
