Lady Bengals Split Games in Pensacola

, FL – The NJCAA seventh-ranked LSUE Lady Bengal basketball team split games with Santa Fe Community College and Andrew College at the Pensacola Junior College Tournament over the weekend.
LSUE fell 123-61 to Santa Fe Community College out of Gainesville, Fla. in the first round of the tournament.
The Lady Bengals (2-3) struggled to make points during the contest, shooting only 24 percent from the floor and turning the ball over 27 times. Santa Fe (6-0) shot 54 percent and hit 52 percent of their three-point baskets.
LSUE fell behind 68-29 in the first half and never could recover.
Katelyn Gary scored 15 points in the match up and Kayla Armstrong and Casey Primeaux were held to just 9 points.
In game two of the tournament, the Lady Bengals cruised to a 52-20 halftime lead and picked up an 87-49 victory over Andrew College.
LSUE scored 23 points off Andrews’ 27 turnovers and outscored the Lady Tigers 30-19 from inside the paint.
Four Lady Bengals scored in double digits against Andrews. Armstrong led LSUE with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Gary had 15 points and 17 rebounds. Primeaux scored 13 points, including four three-pointers, while Ariel Dimes finished with 12 points.
LSUE returns to Pensacola on November 27 to take on Pensacola Junior College and end a five-game road trip. The Lady Bengals will return home on November 30 and December 1 to face San Antonio College.
