LITTLE ROCK – Katelyn Gary had 21 rebounds and Ariel Dimes finished with 21 points as the LSUE Lady Bengals picked up their sixth win of the season, beating Shorter College 77-63 Tuesday night.
The sixth-ranked Lady Bengals (6-4) led by four at the half, but exploded for 43 points in the second period to earn the victory.
LSUE was aggressive inside the paint against Shorter, scoring 52 there and coming down with 55 rebounds.
Gary had almost half of those rebounds and scored 16 points. She was one of a host of Lady Bengals who scored in double digits again Shorter.
Dimes lead the team in scoring and set a career high with her 21 points. Kayla Armstrong finished with 17 and Casey Primeaux added 14 points.
The Lady Bengals head off to the west coast after final exams next week. They will play two games against Los Angeles based community colleges. The girls will return home for a six-game home stretch in January.
