POPLARVILLE, MISS. – The LSUE baseball team will return to the NJCAA Division II World Series for the third time in four years after defeating Pearl River Community College here 12-9 in the Region 23 Tournament.
LSUE had to win two games Sunday to take the regional title.
In the first game, the Bengals trail by 8 runs, only to explode in the final innings to win 19-11.
In the final game of the tournament, LSUE trailed early 2-0, but a three-run home run by Tyler Slocum tied the game in the third inning. LSUE added runs in the fourth with a Matt Creel home run and a Michael Billings double.
