LSUE won three games versus Northlake
Sunday March 29th, Eunice, LA – The LSUE baseball team (30-5) completed the series sweep versus North Lake Community College from Irving, TX today. In game one, Joey Bourgeios (7-0) of Lutcher High School picked up the win on the mound pitching six innings, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, striking out five, and walking four North Lake batters. Offensively, Trey Watkins of Destrehan High School led the way with four hits and three RBI’s. Jordan Bourque of Teurlings Catholic, Les Aulds of West Monroe, and Jacob Fisher of Zachary High, and Caleb Clowers of West Monrow collected multiple hits. Aulds added five RBI’s.
In game two, Brandon Anderson from New Iberia Senior High picked up the win in relief and Ryan Broussard earned the save. Offensively, three Bengals collected multiple hits including Zach Kirksey of West Monroe who had three singles. The Bengals next play at home at Bengal Stadium on Tuesday evening March 31st versus Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) set to begin at 6 pm. The Bengals will return the trip to BRCC on Wednesday April 1st with a doubleheader set to begin at 4 pm.
