Bengals defeat Baton Rouge 6-4

Friday April 17th, Baton Rouge – The LSUE Baseball team (38-6) defeated Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) this evening at Pete Goldsby Field by a score of 6-4. Chance Mistric (11-0) picked up the win pitching six innings, allowing nine hits and four earned runs while walking one and striking out 10. Brennan Flick entered the game in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and no outs, and allowed only one run in relief of Mistric. Ryan Broussard pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up his second save of the season.

Offensively, the Bengals were lead by Trey Watkins who went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two stolen bases and two runs scored. Jordan Bourque added two hits including a double.

Games scheduled for Saturday April 18th vs. BRCC and East Central Mississippi at Bengal Stadium have been cancelled. LSUE and BRCC will make up that doubleheader on Tuesday April 21st set to begin at 4 pm. However, the next game scheduled for the Bengals is Monday April 20th at home vs. Panola College beginning at 4 pm.
