LSUE defeated Baton Rouge in a doubleheader
Wednesday April 1st, Baton Rouge, LA – The LSUE baseball team (32-5) defeated Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) in both games of a doubleheader today at Pete Goldsby Field. LSUE won the first game by a score of 7-1. Stefan Comeaux (3-0) from Breaux Bridge High School earned the complete-game win for the Bengals. Comeaux allowed five hits and one run while striking out three. The Bengals offensive totaled 13 hits along with the seven runs and five different batter recorded two hits each.
In game two, LSUE defeated BRCC 8-4. Ryan Broussard (3-1), also from Breaux Bridge High School, picked up the win on the mound pitching 6 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and 2 earned runs with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. At the plate, the Bengals were led by Trey Watkins of Destrehan High School who went 2-for-3 with three RBI’s including his 3rd homerun of the season. Gabriel Thibodeaux of St. Louis Catholic added three hits; one being a double. The Bengals next game is set for Sunday April 5th in Poplarville, MS. That game will be a doubleheader versus Pearl River Community College set to begin at 2 pm.
