LSU Eunice baseball sweeps Baton Rouge
Tuesday April 21st, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (41-6) defeated Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) in both games of a doubleheader today. LSU Eunice won the first game by a score of 4-3 and the second game by a score of 12-2. The two wins give the Bengals a season sweep of six games versus BRCC.
In game one, Stefan Comeaux (5-0) of Breaux Bridge high school earned the win pitching the complete seven-inning game, allowing six hits and three earned runs while walking one and striking out seven. Offensively, seven of the nine LSUE starting batters collected one hit apiece. The key hit came off the bat of Brook Boudreaux of Teurlings Catholic who hit a one-out two-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Bengals the victory.
In game two, Ryan Broussard (4-0), also of Breaux Bridge high school, picked up the win pitching four innings, allowing three hits, two earned runs, with three walks and four strikeouts. At the plate, Gabriel Thibodeaux of St. Louis Catholic, Clint Ourso of St. John’s, and Brook Broudreaux each tallied two hits. Thibodeaux and Boudreaux had two doubles and two RBI’s apiece. Ourso added a triple.
The next games for the Bengals are scheduled to be played Saturday April 25th in Raymond, MS at Hinds Community College. The doubleheader is set to begin at 1 pm.
