Bengals split with Hinds
Saturday April 25th, Raymond, MS – The LSUE baseball team (42-7) split a doubleheader today versus Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. LSUE won game one by a score of 17-6 behind a complete game by Chance Mistric (12-0). Mistric allowed nine hits and five earned runs while striking out three and allowing one walk. At the plate, Caleb Clowers of West Monroe went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI’s. Zach Kirksey of West Monroe and Jordan Bourque of Teurlings Catholic added three RBI’s apeice with Kirksey hitting his seventh homerun of the season and Bourque tallying a triple.
In game two, Hinds defeated LSUE 9-7. Brandon Anderson (3-3) of New Iberia Senior High suffered the loss in relief of starter Dane Amedee. Anderson pitched six innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs while adding three strikeouts. Offensively, every starting Bengal hitter recorded at least one hit. Kirksey, Clint Ourso of St. John, and Brook Boudreaux of Teurlings Catholic collected three hits apiece. Kirksey added his 8th homerun.
The Bengals will be back in action Monday April 27th with a doubleheader versus Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College set to begin at 2 pm at Bengal Stadium.
