Lady Bengals drop LeTourneau
Box Score LONGVIEW, Texas -- The first and second halves of Friday nights game were completely different in the LSU Eunice 91-55 win over LeTourneau University JV.
The Lady Bengals were mired in the first 20 minutes, struggling to keep posesseion of the ball, and stay away from fouling. In the first half, the Lady Bengals tallied 11 turnovers, and 15 personal fouls. Despite the poor play, they maintained the lead at the break 43-40.
The second half worked out much better for Eunice, as they jumped out quickly, scoring 31 unanswered points to begin the half. The Lady Jackets didn't notch their first second-half field goal until the 08:00 mark.
The Lady Bengals limited their turnovers in the second half, and outscored their opponent 48-15.
Twanisha Tillman led her team in scoring with 26 point on 11-14 shooting from the field. She rounded out her double-double night with 11 rebounds, which also led the team in tha category. Tyler Compton tallied 14 points, and Daranesha Wright had a double-double of her own with 12 points and 10 boards.
Andrea Ashley led LeTourneau in points with 16, and Lauren Llanes added 7 rebounds to lead the team.
The Bengals will play in game two of the doubleheader tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM.
