Bengals sweep East Point series
The Lady Bengals posted back to back wins this weekend after a two game series versus East Point.
On Sunday, the Lady Bengals were victorious with a 99-75 final tally.
It was another big day for LSU Eunice (No. 15, NJCAA) on the stat sheet, with multiple players landing in double digit point totals.
Erica Noel led the way in points with 21, she also added eight rebounds. Twanisha Tillman scored 17 points, Jennifer Hicks added 16 points and 10 rebounds.
For two Bengals, history was within reach. Sierra Goldwire grabbed 19 rebounds, the closest any Bengal has gotten to the record mark of 24 since it was matched in 2008 by Kayla Armstrong. Amanda Fontenot had her own brush with the record book.
Amanda Fontenot followed up her career high 15 assitsts Saturday by posting a new career high of 16 on Sunday. Her 16 falls three short of the record 19 set by Michele Yawn. Oddly enough, Yawn set the record on February 14th, 2006, exactly four years ago.
At 16-8, the Bengals will head back on the road. Their next contest will take place in Perkinston, Miss. versus Mississippi Gulf Coast CC on February 17. LSUE defeated MGCCC earlier this season 77-66.
