LSU Eunice Completes Series Sweep
Saturday February 20th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (11-0) completed a three game series sweep of Galveston College by winning both games of a doubleheader today. In the first game, the Bengals won by an 11-7 score. Tony Dischler (3-0) of Rayne earned the win pitching five innings, allowing six hits and one run with one walk and six strikeouts. Ben Carter of Parkview Baptist pitched one scoreless inning of relief.
Offensively, Jordan Bourque of Teurlings, Raph Rhymes of Neville, and Jacob Fisher of Zachary all collected multiple hits. Bourque went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Rhymes was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI’s and Fisher went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBI’s.
LSU Eunice won game two 9-3. Mitchell Hopkins (4-0) of University High picked up the win pitching four innings while allowing seven hits; all singles, and two runs while walking two and striking out six. Kaleb Manuel of Mamou pitched two innings of hitless relief, allowing one unearned run and striking out two batters.
At the plate, three more Bengals collected multiple hits. Rhymes went 2-for-3 with his third homerun of the season. Andrew Reeves of Parkview Baptist went 2-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored, and Brook Boudreaux of Teurlings went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
The Bengals next scheduled contest is a doubleheader at Bengal Stadium against Bossier Parish. Those games are set to be played on Wednesday Februrary 24th and will begin at 3:00 pm.
