LSU Eunice Splits DH with East Central
Saturday February 27th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (13-2) split a doubleheader today with East Central Community College from Decatur, MS. The Bengals won game won by a 5-4 score. Kaleb Manuel (1-0) from Mamou came on in relief of starter Chance Mistric to earn the win on the mound. Manuel pitched three innings, allowing one hit and no runs or no walks while striking out four. At the plate, Raph Rhymes went 2-for-3 with a double. Eldred Barnett hit a solo homerun, his first of the season, in the bottom of the ninth to make the 5-4 final score.
In game two, East Central won by a score of 5-3. Tony Dischler (3-1) suffered the defeat pitching 7 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and four runs; two earned, with three walks and seven strikeouts. Rhymes collected three of the Bengals six hits in the second game.
The Bengals will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday Feburary 28th at Bengals Stadium against Copiah-Lincoln Community College. The doubleheader is set to begin at 2 pm.
