LSU Eunice Completes Weekend Series
Sunday February 7th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (5-0) completed a three game sweep of North Lake Community College today. The Bengals won by a score of 12-1.
Mitchell Hopkins (2-0) of Univeristy High earned the win going four innings, allowing one hit while striking out four. Hopkins allowed no runs and no walks. After Hopkins, five different Bengal pitchers combined to allow one unearned run in the scheduled nine inning game.
At the plate, five different Bengals collected multiple hits led by Eldred Barnett from Benton High who went 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored. Others collecting multiple hits were Jacob Fisher of Zachary went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and two runs scored, Truman Van Veckhoven of Neville High went 2-for-2 with and RBI and a run scored, and Brook Boudreaux of Teurlings Catholic went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.
