LSU Eunice Sweeps Kellogg in DH
Thursday March 11th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice Baseball team (21-3) defeated Kellogg Community College from Batte Creek, MI in both game of a doubleheader today. The Bengals won the first game 4-1. Jeremy Breaux (1-1) of Rayne High earned the win pitching 6 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and one run while walking one and striking out nine Kellogg batters. Kaleb Manuel of Mamou recorded the last two outs to tally his first save of the season.
Offensively, Les Aulds (ULM signee) and Ryan Broussard (U. of Houston signee) collected two hits apiece to lead the way.
In game two, the Bengals were victorious by a score of 11-1. Tyler Cook (1-0) from Berwick High School received the win going five innings, allowing five hits and one run with no walks and two strikeouts.
At the plate, three Bengals collected two hits apeice. Raph Rhymes of Neville went 2-for-4 with a run scored, Shea Daly of Catholic of New Iberia went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Ryan Broussard went 2-for-2 with a homerun and four RBI’s.
