Bengals Win Two on the Day
Friday March 12th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (23-3) hosted a three team round-robin format series of games today at Bengal Stadium. In the first game of the day, LSU Eunice defeated Kellogg Community College by a 9-1 score. Tony Dischler (5-1), a UL Lafayette signee, earned the win pitching three innings, allowing three hits and one run with one walk and three stirkeouts. Micah Gautreau of St. Amant High School to pitch the final four innings allowing one hit, with one walk and three strikeouts to pick up his first save of the season.
Offensively, the Bengals were led by Raph Rhymes of Neville who went 2-for-3 with a homerun, three RBI’s, and two runs scored.
In game two of the day, Kellogg defeated Northeast Mississippi 10-5.
For game three, the Bengals played Northeast Mississippi. LSU Eunice won that game 11-0. Chance Mistric (4-0) picked up the complete game victory. Mistric allowed two hits and two walks while striking out eight.
At the plate, five different Bengals collected multiple hits led by Eldred Barnett from Benton High who went 3-for-3 with a homerun, an RBI, and two runs scored.
LSU Eunice and Northeast Mississippi play a doubleheader tomorrow, Saturday March 13th set to begin at 1 pm at Bengals Stadium.
