LSU Eunice Sweeps Northeast Miss

Saturday March 13th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (25-3) completed a three game series sweep of Northeast Mississippi Community College today.
The Bengals won game one by a 19-7 score. Mitchell Hopkins (7-0); an LSU signee, pitched six innings, allowed eleven hits and five earned runs while walking two and striking out eight to pick up the victory.
Offensively, four different Bengals collected three hits each. Jordan Bourque; a UL Lafayette signee, went 3-for-4 with a double and four runs scored. Les Aulds; a ULM signeed, went 3-for-3 with two RBI’s and four runs scored. Raph Rhymes of Neville went 3-for-3 with five RBI’s and three runs scored, and Shea Daly of Catholic High New Iberia went 3-for-4 with his first homerun of the season and three RBI’s.

In game two, LSU Eunice won 13-3. Dane Amedee (3-0) of East Ascension earned the victory pitching five innings, allowing five hits and three runs with three walks and nine strikeouts. 
At the plate, Bourque went 2-for-3 with with an RBI and a run scored, and Aulds went 2-for-2 with two RBI’s and two runs scored. 

The Bengals next contest is scheduled for Tuesday March 16th. The doubleheader versus St. Charles Community College is set to begin at 4 pm at Bengal Stadium.
