Bengals Sweep St. Charles
Tuesday March 16th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice Baseball team (27-3) swept St. Charles Community College from St. Peters, MO today in a doubleheader. LSU Eunice won the first game 20-10. Joe Fabre (3-0); Nicholls St. signee, picked up the win pitching four innings, allowing five hits and three runs with two walks and five strikeouts. Micah Gautreau from St. Amant High school came on to pitch 1 2/3 innings allowing no hits and no runs with two walks and two strikeouts.
Leading the way offensively, Matt Richard of East Ascension High went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI’s and Jacob Fisher; Southeastern signee, went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and four RBI’s.
In game two, the Bengals won 7-5. Jeremy Breaux (2-1) of Rayne got the win pitching three innings, allowing five hits and one earned run with two walks and three stikeouts. Ben Carter of Parkview Baptist and Dustin Fulks; Louisiana College commitment, combined to pitch three scoreless innings of relief.
The Bengals were led again by Richard who went 2-for-4 with his first homerun of the season. Raph Rhymes added two RBI’s on his fifth homerun of the season.
The Bengals will play next in New Orleans at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium on Saturday March 20th in a three-way round-robin with Delgado Community College and McHenry County College from Crystal Lake, IL. Check the schedule at www.lsuebengals.net for game times.
