Bengals Sweep Dolphins
Saturday April 10th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice Baseball team (34-6) defeated Delagdo Community College (23-17) in both games of a doubleheader today at Bengal Stadium.
In game one, the Bengals won by a score of 6-5. Chance Mistric (8-0); West Alabama signee, earned the win pitching eight innings, allowing seven hits and three earned runs with two walks and seven strikeouts. Joe Fabre; Nicholls signee, came on to get the last two outs of the game and record his second save of the season.
At the plate, three different Bengals collected two hits apiece. Gabriel Thibodeaux of St. Louis Catholic went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and both Eldred Barnett of Benton High and Ryan Broussard; U. of Houston signee, went 2-for-3 with one RBI each.
In game two, the Bengals won by a score of 6-4. Tony Dischler (7-2); ULL signee, pitched the complete seven inning game, allowing six hits and four runs with one walk and two strikeouts.
Barnett collected two hits again going 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Shea Daly of Catholic High New Iberia went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI’s.
LSU Eunice is scheduled to play again on Tuesday April 13th at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, MS. That contest is a doubleheader set to begin at 3:00 pm.
