LSU Eunice Defeats Copiah-Lincoln

Tuesday April 13th, Wesson, MS – The NJCAA #1 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (36-6) defeated Copiah-Lincoln in both games of a doubleheader. 
In game one, the Bengals won by a score of 13-1. Dane Amedee (4-0) of East Ascension High picked up the win pitching two innings with no hits, no walks, and no runs allowed while stiking out two batters. Jeremy Breaux of Rayne High and Tyler Cook of Berwick came on in relief of Amedee to finish the five inning run-rule shortened game. The two relievers combined to allow two hits and one run in three innings of work. 
Offensively, Raph Rhymes of Neville went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI’s. Zach Kirksey of West Monroe added two singles and an RBI, and Jacob Fisher; Southeastern signee, hit his fourth homerun of the season and tallied four RBI’s. 

In game two, the Bengals defeated the Wolfpack 19-7. Ben Carter (1-0) of Parkview Baptist earned the win pitching 3 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and three runs with no walks and four strikeouts. Three different Bengal relievers combined to allow no earned runs over the last 2 1/3 innings in relief of Carter. 
At the plate, Les Aulds; ULM signee, and Jordan Bourque; ULL signee, each went 3-for-4. Aulds had two RBI’s and three runs scored and Bourque had a double and four runs scored. Fisher added four RBI’s on a grandslam; his fifth homerun of the season. 

The Bengals will be back in action on Friday, April 16th against Baton Rouge Community College. That contest is set to begin at 6 pm at Bengal Stadium. It will also begin a three game weekend series between LSUE and BRCC. See the schedule for times and locations of the other two games.
