Lady Bengals Stays Perfect at Home

The Lady Bengal Softball team completed a perfect home stand by sweeping Meridian Community College her last Thursday.

In game one of the doubleheader with Meridian, the Lady Bengals pounded out fifteen hits to beat the Eagles 9 -1 in four innings.

Stacey Sutton (14-1) pitched her 13th complete game of the season, allowing only four hit and striking out five of the lady eagles. Ashley Parr lead the way offensively with two home runs and a 3-for-3 performance at the plate.

The win in the second game gave the girls the perfect 22-0 season at home.  LSU Eunice completed the sweep with a 13-0 win over the Lady Eagles.

Heather Abshire (8-1) pitched four innings to pick up the win.  Lanie Hollier pitched one inning, stricking out two of the three batters she faced and picking up her sixth save on the year. At the plate, the Lady Bengals put together 11 hits in four innings, scoring 13 runs. Leading the way was Chastiy Gary, who finshed the gaem 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBIs.
