Five Bengals selected in Major League Baseball Draft

Five members of the LSU Eunice baseball team were selected in the 2010 first-year player draft.  Those five players were Ryan Broussard, Tony Dischler, Dane Amedee, Mitchell Hopkins, and Chance Mistric.

Broussard; from Breaux Bridge, was picked as the 564th selection in the 18th round of the draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as a shortstop.

Dischler; from Rayne, was picked as the 690th selection in the 23rd round by the Cleveland Indians as a right-handed pitcher.  

Amedee; of East Ascension High School in Gonzales, was taken as the 849th selection in the 28th round by the Milwaukee Brewers as a left-handed pitcher.  

Hopkins; of University High in Baton Rouge, was picked as the 1267th selection in the 42nd round by the Cincinnati Reds at a left-handed pitcher.   

Mistic; from Port Barre, was taken as the 1284th selection in the 42nd round by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as a right-handed pitcher.    

LSU Eunice also had three high school signees selected in the 2010 first-year player draft.  Those players are as follows:

Juan "Hommy" Rosado; of Barbe High School in Lake Charles, was picked as the 350th selection in the 11th round by the Colorado Rockies as a first baseman. 

Randy LeBlanc; from Covington, was taken as the 497th selection in the 16th round by the Florida Marlins as a right-handed pitcher.  

Kevin Berard; also of Barbe High School, was picked as the 669th selection in the 22nd round by the Milwaukee Brewers as a catcher.
