Pioneers Defeat Bengals in Game Two
Saturday February 12th, Eunice, LA – Wharton County Junior College from Wharton, TX defeated LSU Eunice (1-1) tonight by a score of 7-4. Wharton benefited from two scoreless innings of relief from Aaron Zwahr who earned the win for the Pioneers.
For the Bengals, Josh Burris (0-1) of Scottlandville High School took the loss on the mound with 1 1/3 innings pitched, allowing two hits and five runs while walking two and striking out one. Burris came on in relief of Josh Sims (LaSalle High School) who pitched 5 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
At the plate, Dalton Herrington (Minden) led the Bengals as he went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, and two RBI’s. Matt Richard added two singles with an RBI and two runs scored.
The two teams meet for the third and final game of the weekend series on Sunday, February 13th for a 1 pm start time at Bengal Stadium.
