Bengals Win Game One of the Series
Friday February 18th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (4-2) defeated St. Charles Community College from Cottleville, MO tonight by a score of 14-3.
Andrew Reeves (2-0) of Parkview Baptist picked up the win pitching five innings while allowing four hits and no runs. Reeves struck out eight batters and walked none.
Offensively, the Bengals collected 15 hits and scored 14 runs via 14 RBI’s. Six different hitters collected multiple hits. Josh Burris (Scottlandville High School) led the way going 2-for-3 with a triple, a homerun, two runs scored and three RBI’s. Sam Carriere (Destrehan) went 2-for-4 with three RBI’s. Dalton Herrington (Minden), Stuart Turner (Eunice), and Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) each had two hits and two RBI’s. The other Bengals with two hits was Wet Delatte (St. Amant) who went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
The same two teams will meet again tomorrow, February 19th for a 1 pm start time at Bengal Stadium. The third and final game of the three game weekend series is set for 12 noon on Sunday February 20th.
