Bengals Sweep St. Charles
Sunday February 20th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (6-2) completed the three game sweep of St. Charles Community College today. The Bengals defeated the Cougars by a score of 15-6.
Josh Burris (1-1) of Scottlandville High School picked up the win in relief of starter Brady Wilson (Parview Baptist). Burris pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and one run with no walks and four strikeouts. Kaleb Manuel (Mamou) pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, allowing one hit while striking out two Cougar batters.
Leading the Bengal hitters, Tyler Caruthers (Denham Springs) went 3-for-5 with three RBI’s and two runs scored. Tyler Theriot (Sam Houston) also went 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Wet Delatte (St. Amant) added a double and three RBI’s.
The Bengals next scheduled games will be in Marianna, FL at the Chipola College Tournament. The round-robin format tournament begins on Friday and ends on Sunday. Check the LSU Eunice athletics website at www.lsuebengals.net for game times and opponents.
