Bengals Defeat Texarkana 3-1
Saturday March 12th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (16-4) won today against Texarkana College from Texarkana, TX. The win, by a score of 3-1, completes a stretch in which the Bengals played nine games over a span of seven consecutive days.
Andrew Reeves (3-0) of Parkview Baptist pitched eight innings, allowing one hit and one run while walking two batters and striking out seven in picking up the win. Kaleb Manuel (Mamou) pitched a perfect ninth inning to notch his third save of the season and second in as many days.
Dalton Herrington (Minden) and Stuart Turner (Eunice) led the Bengal hitters with two hits apiece. Herrington went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Turner went 2-for-3 with two RBI’s. Matt Richard (East Ascension) scored two of the three Bengal runs and went 1-for-2 with a walk.
The Bengals next games are scheduled for Tuesday March 15th. LSU Eunice will host St. Charles Community College in a doubleheader set to begin at 4 pm at Bengal Stadium.
