LSU Eunice Sweeps Doubleheader
Tuesday March 15th, Eunice, LA – The preseason #2 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (18-4) won both games of a doubleheader today versus St. Charles Community College.
In game one, the Bengals defeated the Cougars 17-4. Ben Carter (3-0) of Parkview Baptist (ULL Signee) pitched six innings, allowing six hits and three runs with two walks and three strikeouts.
Offensively, five different Bengal hitters recorded multiple hits led by Richard Bain who went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and three RBI’s. Stuart Turner (Eunice) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI’s and Jacque Fruge (Eunice) went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBI’s.
LSU Eunice won the second game by a score of 10-0. Brady Wilson (3-0) (Parkview Baptist) pitched five innings allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and seven strikeouts.
At the plate, Wet Delatte (St. Amant) and Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) tallied two hits apiece. Delatte went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI’s and Hawkins went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI’s.
The Bengals play again tomorrow, Wednesday March 16th against St. Louis-Meramec Community College. The single nine-inning game is set to begin at 6 pm at Bengal Stadium.
