LSU Eunice Defeats St. Louis Meramec

Wednesday March 16th, Eunice, LA – The #2 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (19-4) defeated St. Louis Meramec Community College today by a score of 6-2.

Jared Dye (2-0) of Mangham High School picked up the win pitching five innings, allowing five hits and two runs with one walk and four strikeouts. A trio of relievers in Tanner Olinde (Catholic Pointe Coupee), Tyler Theriot (Sam Houston), and Kaleb Manuel (Mamou) held Meramec scoreless over the final four innings combining to allow two hits, with two walks and five strikeouts.

Sam Carriere (Destrehan) and Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) led the offense with two hits apiece. Carriere went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Hawkins went 2-for-4 with two RBI’s.

The next scheduled game for the Bengals is a doubleheader against Mississippi Gulf Coast on Saturday March 19th. The start time is set for 2 pm at Bengal Stadium.
