LSU Eunice Wins Two on the Day
Friday March 25th, Eunice, LA – The second ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (24-4) won both games of a doubleheader against Sinclair Community College from Dayton, OH.
In the first game, the Bengals defeated the Tartans by a score of 9-3. Brady Wilson (4-0) of Parkview Baptist got the win pitching eight innings, allowing six hits and one run with one walk and five strikeouts.
Offensively, three different hitters recorded multiple hits led by Chuck Tillery (Starkville, MS) who went 3-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases, two runs scored and one RBI. Jacque Fruge (Eunice) went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI’s, and Tyler Theriot (Sam Houston) went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI’s.
LSU Eunice won the second game 5-0. Jared Dye (3-0) (Mangham) picked up the victory pitching five innings, allowing three hits and no runs with two walks and five strikeouts. Josh Burris (Scottlandville) pitched two perfect innings in relief of Dye while striking out five batters.
At the plate, Dalton Herrington (Minden) and Wet Delatte (St. Amant) each went 2-for-4 with an RBI apiece.
The two teams will complete their four game series with a single game tomorrow, Saturday, March 26th. The game is set to begin at 1 pm at Bengal Stadium.
