LSU Eunice Splits DH with Hinds
Tuesday March 8th, Raymond, MS – The LSU Eunice baseball team (10-4) completed play in the two-day round-robin format tournament at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. On Monday March 7th, the Bengals played the host school Hinds in a doubleheader. LSU Eunice won the first game by a score of 4-3.
Ben Carter (2-0) of Parkview Baptist (ULL Signee) threw a complete game pitching seven innings while allowing three hits and one earned run with one walk and four strikeouts.
Offensively, Wet Delatte (St. Amant) went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Hommy Rosado (Barbe) went 1-for-2 with a two run homerun.
In the second game, Hinds won 11-8. Delatte (1-2) started on the mound and received the loss pitched 1 2/3 innings with five hits and six runs allowed; two earned. Josh Burris (Scottlandville) pitched in relief and went 2 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and two runs with no walks and three strikeouts.
At the plate, Delatte, Rosado, and Stuart Turner (Eunice) each went 3-for-4. Rosado and Turner tallied one RBI apiece. Sam Carriere (Destrehan) and Chuck Tillery (Starkville, MS) both collected two hits. Carriere added two RBI’s and Tillery had one.
