Bengals Defeat Kellogg
Tuesday March 8th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (11-4) defeated Kellogg Community College from Battle Creek, MI by a score of 8-1 in the first game of the scheduled doubleheader.
Brady Wilson (2-0) of Parkview Baptist earned the win as the game was ended in the bottom of the fifth inning due to inclement weather. Wilson allowed three hits and one run while walking none and striking out six.
Three different Bengal hitters recorded multiple hits in the game. Matt Richard (East Ascension) went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI’s, and run scored, and a stolen base. Justin Schopp (Central High BR) went 3-for-3 with three singles, and Richard Bain (Trinity Christian, FL) went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI’s, two runs scored, and two stolen bases.
The inclement weather that caused the completion of the first game also caused the cancellation of the second game. That game is now scheduled to begin at 6 pm on Wednesday March 9th at Bengal Stadium. On Thursday, LSU Eunice and Kellogg are scheduled to play a doubleheader at 4 pm.
