LSU Eunice Splits with Tyler

Wednesday March 30th, Tyler, TX - The #1 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (25-6) split the two games of a doubleheader against Tyler Junior College.  The Bengals won the first game by a score of 4-2. 

Clayton Dugan of St. Thomas More started on the mound for LSU Eunice and pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and two runs with five walks and three strikeouts.  Tanner Olinde (3-0) (Catholic Pointe Coupee) came on in relief of Dugan and pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.  Kaleb Manuel (Mamou) pitched the final inning earning his seventh save of the season. 

At the plate, the Bengals were led by Wet Delatte (St. Amant) who went 3-for-3 with a run scored.  Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) and Sam Carriere (Destrehan) had to hits and one RBI apiece. 

In the second game, Tyler won 3-2.  Luke Creech (0-2) of Airline took the loss pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and three runs with one walk and two strikeouts.  Josh Sims relieved Creech and pitched 2 2/3 innings without allowing a baserunner. 

Offensively, Jacque Fruge (Eunice) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Sam Carriere went 2-for-4. 

The Bengals next game is scheduled for Friday April 1st at 6 pm at Bengal Stadium against Baton Rouge Community College.
