Bengals and Dolphins Split DH
Sunday April 10th, New Orleans, LA - The LSU Eunice baseball team (29-9) split a doubleheader today with Delgado Community College. Delgado won the first game by a score of 13-0.
Luke Creech (0-3) of Airline high school took the loss pitching two innings and allowing eight hits and nine runs with no walks and two strikeouts.
Sam Carriere (Destrehan), Wet Delatte (St. Amant), Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian), and Richard Bain (Trinity Chrisitian, FL) had one hit apiece for the Bengals.
In game two, LSU Eunice won 5-2 in extra innings. Tyler Venable (Rayne) started on the mound and pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing three hits and one run with no walks and one strikeout to receive a no decision. Kaleb Manuel (1-0) of Mamou picked up the win pitching 2 2/3 innings while allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and three strikeouts.
At the plate, Delatte went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI, and Hawkins went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Jacque Fruge (Eunice) had a two run double in the top of the ninth to give the Bengals a three run lead.
The next game for the Bengals is scheduled for Tuesday April 12th at Bengal Stadium against Northlake Community College. That will be the first game of a three game mid-week series for the two teams.
