Wednesday April 13th, Eunice, LA – The #2 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (31-10) split a doubleheader today with North Lake College. North Lake won the first game 7-4.

Wet Delatte (St. Amant) started on the mound and pitched four innings, allowing seven hits and four runs; two earned, with two walks and four strikeouts. Josh Sims (1-1) (LaSalle) relieved Delatte in the fifth inning and pitched three innings, allowing two hits and one unearned run to take the loss.

Offensively, five different Bengals collected a single hit apiece. Dalton Herrington (Minden), Hommy Rosado (Barbe), and Richard Bain (Trinity Christian, FL) each had a single and an RBI.

LSU Eunice won the second game 6-1. Tyler Venable (Rayne) (3-0) started and earned the win pitching five innings, allowing one hit and one unearned run with two walks and three strikeouts. Tanner Olinde (Catholic Pointe Coupee) pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and three strikeouts.

At the plate, Herrington went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI. Rosado added two hits with a double and a run scored and Sam Carriere (Destrehan) went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and one RBI.
