Tuesday April 19th, Jackson, MS - The #2 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (34-12) split a doubleheader today with Northwest Mississippi in games played at Millsaps College.

In the first game, Northwest won 8-5. Jared Dye (5-1) from Mangham suffered the defeated pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs with five walks and three strikeouts. Luke Creech (Airline) relieved Dye pitching 3 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and on unearned run with no walks and two strikeouts.

Stuart Turner (Eunice) led the offense going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI's. Jacque Fruge (Eunice) added two hits going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

LSU Eunice won the second game by a score of 12-10. Chad Miller (1-0) of Sulphur picked up the win pitching 2 1/3 inning, allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and two strikeouts.

At the plate, Truman Van Veckhoven (Neville) went 2-for-3 with five RBI's, including a grandslam. Zac Hawkins added two hits going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI's.

The next game for the Bengals is scheduled for Friday April 22nd against Baton Rouge Community College with a 6 pm start time at Bengal Stadium.
