Bengals Defeat Bears 7-1
Friday April 22nd, Eunice, LA – The #2 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (35-12) defeated Baton Rouge Community College 7-1 tonight at Bengal Stadium.
Brady Wilson (7-1) of Parkview Baptist earned the win pitching eight innings, allowing seven hits and one unearned run with one walk and eight strikeouts. Tanner Olinde (Catholic Pointe Coupee) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to finish the game in relief of Wilson.
Offensively, four different Bengal hitters recorded multiple hits led by Hommy Rosado (Barbe) who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and an RBI. Matt Richard (East Ascension) went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Sam Carriere (Destrehan) went 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI’s, and Truman Van Veckhoven went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
The same two teams will play again tomorrow evening at 6 pm in Baton Rouge at Pete Goldsby Field.
