Bengals Defeat Generals
Tuesday April 26th, Alexandria, LA – The #2 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (37-12) defeated LSU Alexandria 14-8 tonight.
Luke Creech (2-3) of Airline high School picked up the win in relief of starting pitcher Ben Carter. Creech threw 3 1/3 innings allowing two hits and no runs with one walk and five strikeouts. Josh Burris (Scottlandville) relieved Creech and threw a scoreless eighth inning allowing no hits with two strikeouts.
Five different Bengal hitters recorded two hits apiece led by Truman Van Veckhoven who went 2-for-3 with a triple, a homerun, two runs scored, and four RBI’s. Tyler Caruthers (Denham Springs) went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBI’s. Stuart Turner (Eunice) added a double and one RBI.
The same two teams will meet again tomorrow, Wednesday April 27th, at 6 pm at Bengal Stadium in Eunice.
