LSU Eunice Wins Against LSU Alexandria
Wednesday April 27th, Eunice, LA – The #3 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (38-12) won tonight against LSU Alexandria by a score of 16-6.
Josh Sims (2-1) of LaSalle High School picked up the win in relief of starter Jared Dye. Sims pitched two innings, allowing two hits and two unearned runs with no walks and one strikeout. Tanner Olinde (Catholic Pointe Coupee) pitched a scoreless seventh inning when he relieved Sims.
Offensively, the Bengals were led by Jacque Fruge (Eunice) who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homerun, three runs scored, and four RBI’s. Stuart Turner (Eunice) went 3-for-3 with a homerun, four runs scored, and two RBI’s. Matt Richard (East Ascension) also had three hits going 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and three RBI’s. Hommy Rosado (Barbe) added three RBI’s on his seventh homerun of the season.
The next scheduled contest for the Bengals is a doubleheader against Delgado. The game(s) are set to begin at 2 pm on Saturday April 30th at Bengal Stadium.
