Saturday April 30th, Eunice, LA – The #3 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (39-13) split a doubleheader this afternoon against Delgado Community College.

The Bengals won the first game 2-1.

Brady Wilson (8-1) of Parkview Baptist threw the complete nine inning game allowing three hits and one run with three walks and seven strikeouts.

At the plate, Matt Richard (East Ascension) went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run scored, and the game winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth. Hommy Rosado (Barbe) and Stuart Turner (Eunice) each went 2-for-4 with two singles.

In the second game, Delgado won 4-0. Andrew Reeves (6-4) of Parkview Baptist suffered the defeat pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and three runs; two earned, with three walks and four strikeouts.

Offensively, Wet Delatte (St. Amant) recorded two of the three Bengal hits going 2-for-3 with two singles.

The next scheduled game(s) for the Bengals will be Friday May 6th against Alvin Community College. The doubleheader is set to begin at 4 pm at Bengal Stadium.
