LSU Eunice Defeats Baton Rouge 15-3
Wednesday April 6th, Baton Rouge, LA – The #1 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (27-7) defeated Baton Rouge Community College by a score of 15-3 tonight.
Jared Dye (4-0) of Mangham picked up the win pitching in relief of starter Clayton Dugan (St. Thomas More). Dye came on in the first inning and pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, allowing four hits with no walks and three strikeouts. Tyler Venable (Rayne) finished the game with a perfect inning of relief in the seventh.
Offensively, four different Bengals collected multiple hits. Wet Delatte (St. Amant) went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI’s. Sam Carriere (Destrehan) also had three hits going 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI’s. Chuck Tillery (Starkville, MS) went 2-for-5 with a run scored, and Matt Richard (East Ascension) went 2-for-2 with four runs scored and three stolen bases.
