Friday May 6th, Eunice, LA – The #3 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (41-13) swept Alvin Community College in a doubleheader today at Bengal Stadium. The Bengals won the first game 12-11 in 10 innings.

Brady Wilson of Parkview Baptist started on the mound and pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing eight hits and five runs; four earned, with one walk and four strikeouts. Luke Creech (3-3) of Airline High School picked up the win as he threw the 10th inning and allowed two hits and two runs; none earned, with no walks and two strikeouts.

Two Bengal hitters collected four hits apiece. Sam Carriere (Destrehan) went 4-for-6 with three RBI’s. Stuart Turner (Eunice) went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI’s including his second homerun of the season. Matt Richard (East Ascension) added two hits, two stolen bases, two runs scored, and one RBI.

In the second game, LSU Eunice won by a score of 11-3.

Andrew Reeves (7-4) of Parkview Baptist pitched six innings, allowing seven hits and three runs; none earned, with no walks and two strikeouts. Chad Miller (Sulphur) and Tyler Theriot (Sam Houston) combined to pitch a scoreless seventh inning.

At the plate, four different hitters collected two hits apiece. Richard went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI. Dalton Herrington (Minden) went 2-for-3 with a double, one run scored, and one RBI. Carriere went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI’s, and Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) went 2-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI. Turner added two more RBI’s on with a single in the second game.
