Lady Bengals travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast, look to snap skid
The LSU Eunice women’s basketball team will look to shake off a three-game losing streak when they travel to Perkinston, Mississippi to take on Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Bengals opened their season with a pair of wins against Mountain View College on the road before defeating Mississippi Gulf Coast 85-61 in their home opener back on Nov. 12. Since then, the Lady Bengals have dropped two road games in Missouri before falling to San Jacinto on Nov. 20.
“Our game in Perkinston is a very important game for our team,” head coach
Michael Bari said.
"We need to get back to our winning ways. Playing in Mississippi will definitely be a solid road text for us,” Bari added.
In their win over MGCCC on Nov. 12, freshman
Taylor Hurd led the Lady Bengals in scoring with 24 points, while sophomore
Lida Politopoulou notched 21 points of her own. Freshmen
Meghan Cross and
Chesley Dubroc finished with 14 and 10 points, respectively, rounding out the double digit scorers.
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College comes in 5-2 overall and on a two-game winning streak following two wins last week in the Gulf Coast Classic tournament they hosted.
Tonight’s game can be seen live on
Bengal All-Access and can also be heard on the radio on Oldies 92.5 in the Eunice area.
