Bengals Win Two on the Day
Saturday February 11
th, Eunice, LA – The #3 ranked LSU Eunice baseball team (7-0) defeated St. Charles Community College from Cottleville, MO in both games of a doubleheader today. The Bengals won the first game by a score of 17-1.
Brady Domangue (Vandebilt Catholic) (1-0) picked up the win pitching five innings, allowing two hits and one run with six walks and seven strikeouts. Zac Person (Eunice) relieved Domangue and went two innings, allowing one hit and no runs with three walks and four strikeouts.
Three different Bengal hitters collected multiple including Dalton Herrington (Minden) who went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base, and three runs scored. Drew Forbes (Denham Springs) went 2-for-4 and Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) went 2-for-5. Both Forbes and Hawkins tallied three RBI’s.
LSU Eunice won the second game 9-2. Jared Dye (Mangham) (2-0) pitched five innings, allowing five hits and two runs with one walk and five strikeouts in earning the win. Dye was relieved by Justin Desselle (Crowley) who went two innings, allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and two strikeouts.
Offensively, Chuck Tillery (Starkville, MS) went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Adam Angelle (Teurlings Catholic) added two hits and two RBI’s while scoring two runs and stealing three bases. Buddy McCoy (Haughton) went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
The two teams finish their three game series tomorrow, Sunday February 12
th at 1 pm at Bengal Stadium.
