Bengals Defeat Blazers in Series Opener

th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (3-0) defeated North Lake Community College from Irving, TX by a 9-7 score.
Will Bacon (Parkview Baptist) (1-0) earned the win in relief. Bacon pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and two runs with one walk and seven strikeouts. Chad Miller (Sulphur) held the Blazers scoreless over the final two innings to pick up his first save of the season.
Three Bengal hitters collected two hits each. Casey Rodrigue (Brother Martin) went 2-for-5 with a run scored, Dalton Herrington (Minden) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI’s including his second homerun of the season, and Sam Carriere (Destrehan) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
The two teams meet again tomorrow, Monday February 6
th at Bengal Stadium. The doubleheader is set to begin at 1 pm.
