Bengals Sweep Mississippi Gulf Coast

th, Perkinston, MS – The LSU Eunice baseball team (20-2) won both games of a doubleheader today against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
The Bengals topped the Bulldogs by a 16-0 score in game one.
Cody Boutte (NISH) (2-0) pitched a complete game going seven innings, allowing six hits and no runs with no walks and seven strikeouts.
LSU Eunice totaled 19 hits in the game, led by Garrett Deschamp (Parkview Baptist), and Drew Forbes (Denham Springs) who both went 3-for-3. Deschamp hit a homerun, scored three runs, and tallied four RBI’s while Forbes had a double with two runs scored and two RBI’s. Stuart Turner (Eunice) went 1-for-3 with a three-run homerun.
In the second game, the Bengals won by a score of 7-3.
Starting pitcher Brady Domangue (Vandebilt Catholic) (4-0) went five innings, allowed five hits and three runs, two earned, with three walks and seven strikeouts. Brandt Bourgeois (Destrehan) pitched a scoreless sixth inning, and Patrick Michon (Porter, TX) pitched a perfect seventh inning to record his fifth save of the season.
At the plate, Turner went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Casey Rodrigue (Brother Martin) went 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI’s, and Deschamp added two more RBI’s.
The Bengals are scheduled to play their next game(s) on Tuesday March 13
th. The doubleheader against St. Charles Community College is set to begin at 4:00 PM at Bengal Stadium.
