 Saturday March 31st, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (31-3) split a doubleheader today against Delgado Community College from New Orleans. 
 
In the first game, the Bengals topped the Dolphins by a score of 9-4.
 
Brady Wilson (Parkview Baptist) (7-0) started and picked up the win pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and four runs with two walks and six strikeouts.  Wilson was relieved by Justin Desselle (Crowley) who threw the final 3 2/3 innings to pick up a save.  Desselle allowed no hits and no runs with one walk and five strikeouts. 
 
Offensively, Drew Forbes (Denham Springs) went 2-for-5 with one run scored and two RBI’s.  Sam Carriere (Destrehan) also had two RBI’s going 1-for-4 with a sacrifice fly. 
 
In the second game, the Bengals saw their 19-game winning streak snapped losing 4-3.
 
Starting pitcher Cody Boutte (NISH) (4-1) went four innings, allowing eight hits and four runs with no walks and three strikeouts in taking the loss.  Tanner Olinde (Cath Pointe Coupee) relieved Boutte, throwing three innings, allowing one hit and no runs with no walks and two strikeouts. 
 
Carriere, Marc Picciola (St. Charles Cath), and Chuck Tillery (Starkville, MS) had the Bengals three hits.   Tillery’s hit was a double. 
 
The teams will complete their three-game series tomorrow, Sunday April 1st with a single nine-inning game set to begin at 1:00 PM at Bengal Stadium.
