Baseball Tops Kellogg 10-2

th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (17-2) defeated Kellogg Community College 10-2 in game two of their series.
Starting pitcher Zac Person (Eunice) (2-0) pitched five innings, allowing four hits and two runs with two walks and six strikeouts. Person was followed by four relievers who threw one inning each. Jared Dye (Mangham), Cody Rider (Sam Houston), Brandt Bourgeois (Destrehan), and Patrick Michon (Porter, TX) combined to allow three hits and no runs with one walk and three strikeouts.
Offensively, the Bengals collected 17 hits led by Marc Picciola (St. Charles Catholic) who went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI. Drew Forbes (Denham Springs) added three hits going 3-for-5 with a double, one run scored, and one RBI. Garrett Deschamp (Parkview Baptist) also had three hits going 3-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI. Buddy McCoy (Haughton) tallied two hits with a double and three RBI’s.
The two teams play again tomorrow, Thursday, March 8
th at 6:00 PM at Bengal Stadium.
