Lady Bengals beat BRCC in both games of Tuesday's doubleheader
Lady Bengals (37-5) beat Baton Rouge CC, 3-1 and 15-0
In game one of the doubleheader the Lady Bengals used a solid defensive game to bring them to a 3-1 victory over BRCC. The Lady Bengals defense was lead by Tina Schulz in the circle, pitching seven innings, giving up one run, allowing two hits, one walk, and collecting six strike outs. Behind Schulz the the Lady Bengals one gave up one error.
Offensively the Bengals collected eight hits, led by
Taylor Simon going 2-3 with one run scored and by
Ashley Taylor going 2-3 with one RBI.
The Lady Bengals used an eight run first inning to propel them to a 15-0 victory in the second game of the double header, racking up 13 hits as a team.
Kelsey Hollier, going 4-4 with three runs and three RBIs, and
Pamela Wainwright, going 3-4 with one run and five RBIs, led the Lady Bengals offense.
Kaylee Guidry started in the circle for the Lady Bengals, pitching four innings, giving up two hits, one walk and collecting four strike outs.
Doren Welch came in relief for Guidry to finish out the game, pitching one inning, giving up no hits, and earning one strike out.
The Lady Bengals travel to Ellisville, MS on Thursday to take on Jones County JC game time set for 3:00pm.
